🏆 ROAD TO THE FINAL

South Melbourne have built their run around aggressive attacking transitions and resilience, eliminating A-League opposition Adelaide United before coming from behind to beat Queensland Lions 3-1 in the semi-final.

⚔️ TACTICAL PREVIEW

South Melbourne will look to:
• Play quickly through midfield
• Attack wide spaces before delivering into the box
• Use Bul Juach as the main penalty-area threat
• Turn the game into a high-tempo contest

Melbourne Victory will look to:
• Control midfield territory
• Press South’s build-up
• Attack spaces behind advanced full-backs
• Use their superior squad depth and transition speed

🔑 KEY BATTLE

Bul Juach vs Victory’s central defence.

Juach scored a second-half hat-trick in the 3-1 semi-final win over Queensland Lions and has been one of South Melbourne’s biggest attacking threats during the Cup run.

🤝 HEAD-TO-HEAD

No recent competitive meetings between the clubs, making this a rare Melbourne cross-era clash between one of Australian football’s historic powers and one of the modern A-League era’s most successful clubs.

📌 MATCH THEME

South Melbourne: intensity, direct attacking, momentum.
Melbourne Victory: structure, defensive control, squad depth.

A fascinating clash of football identities — and the first all-Victorian Australia Cup Final of the modern era.
